Get your piece of horological art: these high-end prints are of entirely hand-drawn images dreamt up and realized by our featured watch artist, Ben Li.

The aBlogtoWatch team is super proud to have Ben Li join Tamás Fehér as a watch artist made available to you exclusively through the aBlogtoWatch Store. To learn more about Ben and his work, read our introductory Q&A profile article on aBlogtoWatch!

Ben – who's collaborated with brands such as Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC, Casio, Brabus & others – tailors his works around action, color and fun: presenting some of your best-loved watches in larger-than-life style. His signature touches are beautifully captured by these high-end, yet affordable prints.

This watch drawing is inspired by the Rolex Submariner Date 126613LB, the latest generation of the Submariner Date in "two-tone," i.e. Yellow Rolesor. Ben highlights the characteristic details of this super-cool Submariner Date, including its much-loved two-tone exterior and blue bezelSupercharged with contrast, colors and a love for Rolex, Ben's drawing brings a modern horological icon to life.

“Drawing watches is a way for me to practise my skills as well as to relax. I found in the process of drawing watches I was able to further develop my sense of composition, texture and colouring skills. I also incorporated elements from my previous graphic and media design professions.

Once a drawing is complete, a state-of-the-art scanner is used to faithfully digitalize all its hand-drawn details and help result in a truly outstanding print. The local workshop we use for all InkDial prints is the sole distributor to the most advanced archival Epson printers as well as various paper options. We rely on their unmatched expertise and technical background to bring Ben's work to life.

Ben Li: "The hardest part of drawing watches, for me, would definitely be achieving the unique colour and texture of some watch designs. For example, the texture of case and movement materials, the patina and wear of vintage pieces or the true effects of precious stones pose a cherished challenge. I primarily use marker pens for my pieces, so some mistakes are irreversible and will mean having to end up discarding and starting over again."
